Bus

Public transport travels along Route 20 between Pakse and Salavan. From Pakse, any Salavan-bound bus can drop off en route bringing travellers within 2 km of Tad Lao village.

If you can’t scare up a tuk tuk at the junction, English speaking Fandee or Palamei Guesthouse can usually send someone to pick you up, try giving them a call. Transfers cost 10,000 kip. Otherwise it’s a walk, and you won’t be the first person to have done it.

Transport from Tad Lo is likewise getting a transfer to Route 20 and catching a bus en route.

Pakse (southern bus station): local bus departs at 08:20, 10:00, 11:00, 13:00. Costs 30,000 kip.
Paksong: local bus departs at 08:00, 10:00. 
Savannakhet (via Pakse): bus departs at 07:40.
Tha Khaek or Vientiane (via Pakse): local bus departs at 09:20, VIP bus departs at 15:00, sleeping bus departs at 17:00.
