Brazil’s Gol airlines became the first to fly the 737 Max after it was grounded earlier this month. Aeromexico has also used the plane for dozens of flights.
Last week, Air Canada reported that a Boeing Co 737-8 Max flying from Arizona and Montreal with three crew members onboard suffered an engine issue that forced the crew to divert the aircraft to Tucson. Shortly after the take-off, the pilots received an “engine indication” and “decided to shut down one engine”, an Air Canada spokesman said on Friday. “The aircraft then diverted to Tucson, where it landed normally and remains.”
