Oneonta Gorge אמנם לא רחוק מהדרך הראשית על הקולומביה, אבל לפי מה שהבנתי, הדרך הרגלית אליו עוברת בעיקר בתוך מים קרים וסלעים חלקלקים. אני מתכנן לבקר שם בספטמבר, אעדכן לאחר מכן.

עשיתי קצת גוגל לגבי Reflection Canyon ומה שמצאתי היה בעיקר אתרי תמונות. תמונות מדהימות. מי שנתקלתי שהגיע היו בעיקר בהייקים, לא בשבילנו. גם בפורום פייג' של טריפאדוויזר כמעט ולא מוזכר. אשאל לגבי זה שנשכור את הסירה אבל ככל הנראה נאלץ להסתפק בתמונות באינטרנט frown

אם אתם שוכרים סירה, אני מניח שהמשכירים יעזרו לכם למצוא את נקודת העגינה לראות את הקניון. הרי הם מכירים כל חור בלייק פאוול. אולי צריך GPS יעודי ולהכניס את נקודות הציון שימסרו לכם, כי טלפון נייד לא יעבוד באזורים הללו.

כל האתרים האלו מתאפיינים בנגישות נמוכה לתייר הממוצע (ואפילו לממוצע פלוס). היכרתי 10 מתוך ה-12 אבל לא ביקרתי באף אחד מהם.

על נסיעה או הליכה כפי שאתה מתאר אני מראש מוותרת.

מצד שני, אנחנו שוכרים סירת מנוע ליום שלם מ Antelope Point Marina. 

האם ריאלי להגיע ל Reflection Canyon? מיקמתי את שתי הנקודות במפה ונראה לי רחוק מאוד, גוגל מפס כמובן לא עוזר. למישהו יש מושג?

נראה לי מקום יפיפה.

לפי בדיקתי ברשת, הדרך להגיע לשם היא בסירה. או לחילופין לסוע על HOLE IN THE ROCK ROAD ומשם ללכת ברגל יותר מ-5 ק"מ, להערכתי (אם בכלל יש שביל גישה לשם):

לציין הכביש יוצא מ-ESCALANTE ביוטה ולסוע עליו מרחק של כ-60 מייל (במעט 100 ק"מ) לוקח יותר מארבע שעות לכיוון לפי גוגל מאפס:

לפחות לחלק מהאתרים האלה יש סיבה ברורה למה הם לא מוצפים בתיירים. לדוגמא: מפלי הוואסו. חברים שלי ביקרו שם לפני שבועיים (לי לא הסתדר עם מחוייבויות אחרות). מדובר במקום מרוחק מאוד מהציליביזציה. מסלול ההליכה הוא כ15 ק"מ לכל כוון (בחזור יש עליה קשה) וכדי לטייל שם יש להתארגן עם ציוד כולל לינה כי את קטעי ההליכה (הלוך וחזור) עושים רק מאוד מוקדם בבוקר. לא בדיוק קלי קלות.
