You are arriving at the end of the dry season. Especially if you are arring in October. it is very hot, until 2 days ago we had 48 deegrees outside and 39 inside. So, book a lodge or hotel with air conditioner. A must at this time of the year. It depedns on teh dry season and the rains that year, btu usually the ZImbabwean side is more impressive then teh Zambian side in October and November (unless rains up river started in Sep). 

I would suggets to Land iN Victoria Falsl ZImbabwe, Visit the Falls and then fly from Vic Falls airport direct with Air Namibia to  Windhoek.
