All components of a helmet are subject to ageing, depending on handling, maintenance, and degree of wear, which depends on the intensity of use and the specific conditions of use.
Under optimum storage conditions (cool, dry, protected from daylight; no contact with chemicals; no mechanical crushing, pressure, or stress) and without use, the maximum lifetime is 8 years following the indicated date of production. This should not be exceeded in use, even if the product is in a visually good condition.
For reasons of safety, we recommend our helmets are replaced 3-5 years after initial use, depending on the intensity of use.
You can find the date of manufacture either as a calendar clock or as a sticker on the inside of the helmet. The year of manufacture is at the centre of the calendar clock. The arrow points to the month of manufacture. -
