Travel Warning: Relaxation on visas and travel restrictions for foreign tourists
1. The Government of India has decided to start granting new group tourist visas to foreigners arriving in India via charter flights from October 15, 2021. Foreign tourists travelling to the India on flights other than chartered planes could do so with Vigence starting November 15th. All COVID-19 protocols and rules reported by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare must be complied with by foreign tourists.
2. Free Tourist Visa for First 500.000 Tourists: According to Honourable Minister of Finance Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman in July 2021, the first 500.000 tourist visas will be issued for free. Free visa benefit will be available only once per tourist during the first 500,000 tourist visas broadcast. The plan will apply until March 31, 2022 or until 500.000 visas have been issued, whichever comes first. Therefore, you are encouraged to take advantage of this offer to visit India. Tourist Visa Application website will be available in the next few days.
3. The following points should be considered when applying for electronic tourist visa / regular tourist visa at the Indian Embassy in Bogota.
(i) Foreign citizens who wish to visit India for tourist purposes will be able to enter India with an e-tourist visa / tourist visa via chartered flights (group tourism only) from October 15, 15 2021.
(ii) All foreign citizens who intend to travel to India for tourist purposes through Vande Bharat Mission (VBM), Air Bubble Plan or any scheduled / unscheduled commercial flights as permitted by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, they will be able to enter India. as of November 15, 2021.
(iii) Foreign citizens should get new Embassy / regular tourist visa. Existing valid electronic tourist visa / regular tourist visa continues suspended and can not be used.
(iv) Such foreign citizens will receive a new e-tourist / single regular tourist visa for 30 days based on a new application.
(v) Such foreign citizens may enter India by shipping routes or flights. However, such aliens will not be able to enter through integrated terrestrial checkpoints.
With this, visa restrictions and international travel eased further given the current general COVID-19. situation.
