היי, הייתי במרפאת מטיילים לקראת טיול לסין למשך חודש בספטמבר. הרופאה נתנה לי מרשם לDoxycycline אבל בגלל שיש לה הרבה תופעות לוואי ביקשתי משהו אחר והיא נתנה לי מרשם לPlaquenil. אח"כ אחד האחים שעשה לי את החיסונים אמר שהשני זה בכלל מתאים למרכז אמריקה. באינטרנט היה כתוב ששניהם בסדר פשוט השני יקר יותר. עכשיו אני ממש מבולבלת. בסין אני אהיה ב- גווילין, יאנגשו, לונגשאן, קונמינג, צנגדו, שמורת ג'וזייגו ,שמורת האולונג, סונגפאן, שיאן ובייג'ין. מישהו יכול להגיד לי מה כדאי לקחת?

Areas with malaria: Present year round in rural parts of Yunnan Province, primarily in the counties along the China–Burma (Myanmar) border. Limited transmission in rural areas of Anhui, Hubei, Guangxi, and Motuo County in Tibet. Some major river cruises may go through malaria-endemic areas in Anhui and Hubei Provinces.
Estimated relative risk of malaria for US travelers: Very low.
Drug resistance4: Chloroquine and mefloquine.
Malaria species: Primarily P. vivax; P. falciparum in Yunnan Province only.
Recommended chemoprophylaxis:Along China-Burma (Myanmar) border in the western part of Yunnan Province: Atovaquone-proguanil or doxycycline.Other parts of Yunnan Province: Atovaquone-proguanil, doxycycline, or mefloquine.All other areas with malaria, including river cruises that pass through malaria-endemic provinces: Mosquito avoidance only.
