USA Coast to Coast – Spring or Fall 2022

Hey there everyone
Have been too long away from the road and decided to fulfill an old dream of driving across the US visiting lakes, national parks, nature and just get away far from civilization for a good 4 or 5 weeks ...
Still there are no dates or routes, just an incredible spirit to do it and unwind the stress of the last 10 years of my life.
Most probably will start in Florida and end up in San Francisco.
Im a relax guy, love nature, into healthy food, and looking for an adventurous partner.
Preferably female.
I live in Panama, speak hebrew, spanish and English. -
מדובר במרחק של כמעט 5,000 ק”מ במסלול הקצר ביותר, ללא עצירות וללא סטיות מהדרך. יש כמה חלקים של מאות ק”מ שאין ממש מה לראות או לעשות.
אני מניח שאתה מתכוון לשכור רכב (אתה מעל גיל 25 ?). מחירי השכרת רכב בארה”ב עלו פי שניים או פי שלושה בשנה האחרונה, בנוסף לכך יהיה לך “קנס” DROP FEE של מאות דולרים על לקיחה בפלורידה והחזרה בקליפורניה.
לגבי שותף/ה, פרסם הודעתך במדור “מחפשים שותפים”.
יש הרבה אפשרויות לרוד טריפ כזה, 4-5 שבועות די לחוץ אם אתה מתכוון לבקר בהרבה אתרי טבע ופארקים, כי תצטרך לסטות הרבה מהמסלול הראשי.
בינתיים תיכנס לאתרים כגון: זה ותתחיל להתרשם מרוד טריפס שונים בארה”ב.
על סמך לימוד הדרך ממיאמי לסן פרנסיסקו, תתחיל לבנות מסלול לפי האתרים השונים שתרצה לבקר בהם ולפי הזמן שתרצה או תתרשם שיש לבקר בכל מרום ואתר.

My plan is to buy a car in Florida or wherever im going to start to later sell it at the end of the trip.
I have made one and two weeks solo road trips, but I don’t see myself doing the same with 5+ weeks, so first is to find the right travel partner and later start planning.
My idea is to cross to Niagara Falls and through Canada to Michigan, than continue west throughout lakes and national parks all the way to Utah, Arizona, Nevada to later end up in the Pacific Coast.
I’m still wondering if to start in Florida, I find Key West an iconic place to begin the Coast to Coast trip, but i dont see interesting the road to New York,
All suggestions are much appreciated. -
5 שבועות = 35 יום, כלומר קצת פחות מ-150 ק”מ ליום ללא סטיות. זה לא מתאים לביקורים באתרים שדורשים סטיה גדולה מהמסלול, אבל אפשר לטייל לא מעט בסביבת המסלול הקצר ויש לא מעט סיפורים ברשת של אמריקאים שעשו כך.לסבר את האוזן (או את העין :)), קראתי על סטודנטים שנסעו מהבית לאוניברסיטה 2000 מייל ב-3 ימים.

אז כתבתי: קודם שב, פתח גוגל מאפס, תתחיל לבנות מסלול ולקבוע פחות או יותר כמה זמן תשהה בכל מקום ואתר.
קי ווסט נחמד אבל לנסוע לפלורידה רק בשביל זה לא מתאים, מה עוד שאתה רוצה אח”כ להמשיך לקנדה.
אני ממליץ לך שבאביב/סתיו עדיף שתתרכז באזור המערב של ארה”ב, לטוס ללוס אנג’לס, לדוגמה, אם אתה כ”כ אוהב טבע. ב-5 שבועות תוכל לבקר בהרבה פארקים לאומים במערב, כולל ילוסטון. לא שווה לדעתי להתחיל בפלורידה ולחצות כל ארה”ב שתי וערב, אלא אם יש באפשרותך לטייל כמה חודשים ולא רק חמישה שבועות.

אני מסכימה עם ראובן. בחמישה שבועות מאוד לחוץ לעשות טיול מחוף לחוף. יש כל כך הרבה דברים שאפשר לראות ואתה תיאלץ לוותר על המון. אנחנו בחמישה שבועות עשינו טיול שהתחיל בדנבר, עלה לילוסטון, ירד ללאס וגאס ומשם לכל הפארקים של יוטה ושל קולורדו וחזרה לדנבר. זהו.

Also, did you check that as a non-resident you can buy a car in FL or wherever you decide to start and what would be the procedure and how long it would take?
Same goes to the point of selling the car – this can take from a couple of days to a few weeks.
You will also need to check on cost of insurance and as you have no US insurance history that can be very expensive.Did you consider renting a car? Even with drop off fees it may be cheaper than buying and selling a car.
I think you should, as suggested, look at a map and start by checking the distance between any two parks you want to visit. Google maps will give you an estimated drive time which you should add at least 20% to. Also, zoom into the map until the scale (right lowest corner) is something you can relate to and don’t forget to toggle between Miles and Kilometers (whichever you’re more familiar with).
